Julia M. Priyatel, 90, died May 2, 2016, at the Boundary Waters Care Center in Ely.
She was born June 21, 1925 in Ely, to Frank and Antonia Zaverl.
Julia attended Ely Memorial High School. She married Albert (Beanie) Priyatel in Ely on Sept. 1, 1947 and together they lived a rich, full life.
She was an active member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, a volunteer at the Ely Nursing Home, and other civic organizations. She truly loved to create and share her talents.
Many thanks to Northwoods Care Partners for all of the services and friendship provided to Julia in the past years, the Boundary Waters Care Center for their wonderful care of Julia in the past months, an Essentia Health Hospice for their compassionate care of Julia in her final days.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on May 25 at 11 a.m. at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Ely with visitation being held one hour prior to the service at the church. Inurnment will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to The American Cancer Society. Arrangements have been entrusted to Kerntz Funeral Home of Ely.
