Lucille Gladys Jacobson

Lucille Gladys Jacobson 83, of Ely, formerly of Babbitt, died Saturday, September 3, 2016, at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth, surrounded by her loving family.

Lucille was born January 31, 1933 in St. James, MN, to Hugo and Louise Kriesch.  She married Don Jacobson on February 3, 1956, in St. James, Minn.  Lucille grew up in St. James Minnesota.

She held numerous jobs throughout her life. She worked for many years with her daughter at Britton’s Café in Ely as the bookkeeper. She was a fixture in the restaurant, everyone knew her as “Grandma”. She enjoyed traveling, especially her trips to Alaska and Arizona. She also enjoyed time spent with her family.

Lucille is survived by her children Kathy (Rodney) Aho of Prior Lake, Minn., Tom Jacobson of Anchorage, Alaska, Bonnie Jacobson (Mike Popesh) of Ely, Minn., Grandchildren, Jennifer (Steven) Reinders of Prior Lake, Minn., Kristin (Paul) Albers of Bagdad, Arizona, Travis Jacobson (Jeanna Mortez) of Anchorage, Alaska, Kaylea Jacobson (Chuck Kusmider) of Anchorage, Alaska, Carmen Jacobson (Mathew Haar) of Anchorage, Alaska, Samantha Cornwell (Matt Litherland) of Ely, Minn., Jesse Cornwell of Ely, MN. Great Grandchildren Abigail and Isabelle Reinders of Prior Lake, MN., Sydney and Sage Albers of Bagdad, Arizona, Easton Jacobson of Anchorage, Alaska, Brandy Allen and Melody Kusmider of Anchorage, Alaska.  Sister Juanita (Dennis) Boldt of Mankato,numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Don, daughter, Jayne; infant son, Timothy; brother Arno Kriesch; sisters; Erna Harder,Lenora Fry and Viola Anderson.

Funeral services will be held on Wed. Sept. 7, 2016 at 11:00 am,at Kerntz Funeral Home in Ely Minn., with visitation one hour prior to the service.  There will be a visitation on Sept. 6th from 5– 7 pm at Kerntz Funeral Home.

Burial will be at a later date.
