Patricia “Pat” Kinzer, 86, of Babbitt, Minnesota, died peacefully February 8, 2017, surrounded by her children.
Pat was born in Cicero, Illinois, June 15, 1930. She had a wonderful childhood in Buckman, Minnesota, with her mom, dad and seven siblings. Pat graduated from Royalton High School in 1946 and furthered her education by getting an elementary
education degree from St. Cloud Normal School in 1948. Pat taught in rural elementary schools throughout Minnesota in the 1950’s.
Pat married the love of her life, Richard Theodore Kinzer, of Morrill, Minnesota, in September of 1959. They built their life and family in Babbitt, Minnesota. Pat was incredibly passionate in her faith at St. Pius parish with MCCL, teaching cathechism, CCW, and preparing food for parish events. She also loved gardening, painting ceramics, traveling and was legendary with Joan Hoheisel, her sister, at Tuesday night cribbage. Pat kept her mind sharp by reading novels and solving crossword puzzles.
Pat is survived by her three children, Gary (Debra Lown) of Milwaukee, Wisconsin,
Douglas (Julie Broda) of Babbitt, and Camille (John Blauert) of Elk River, Minnesota.
She will be missed by six grandchildren, Matthew, Gabriel, Nichole, Andrew, James, and Elizabeth, all whom she dearly loved.
She was preceded in death by her husband Richard, her brothers Donnie, Jim, Arnie, Jack, Alan, and David.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, February 11, 2017, at 11:00, at St. Pius X Catholic Church, in Babbitt, Minnesota. Visitation is at the church one hour prior to the service. Family arrangements have been entrusted to Kerntz Funeral Home of Ely.
