Thomas J Baudek

Thomas J. Baudek, 57, Ely, passed away on Sunday, October 2, 2016, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Duluth.
Tom (Chuma) was born March 27, 1959 in Winton, MN and Graduated from Ely Memorial High School in 1977.  Tom worked as a truck driver and equipment operator serving as a dedicated public servant for the City of Ely for 35 years, retiring in 2013 due to illness.
Tom enjoyed bowling, nascar racing, and all Minnesota sports – the Twins, Vikings, Timberwolves, and the Wild. He kept us on our toes with his unusual trivia questions.  Tom was patriotic, loved Ely and the USA, and had a deep respect for all who served and sacrificed.
Tom is survived by his parents, Mathew and Rita Baudek; brothers, Mathew (Marie) Baudek, and Jerry Baudek; sisters, Janice (Craig) Beyer, and Judy (Martin) Husar; and sister-in-law Kristine Baudek; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Matt and Jenny Baudek, and Eino and Aune Kylmala; and brother, Patrick Baudek; and several aunts and uncles.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at 11:00 am at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Ely with visitation at 10:00 am prior to the mass.
Memorials are preferred to:  Multiple Sclerosis, American Cancer Society, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital
