Enola L. Loomis

Enola L. Loomis, 89 born into God’s Kingdom on March 9, 1935 to Edward and Lydia Nelson. She was born into God’s grace through Holy Baptism. Enola entered peacefully into God’s Kingdom of Glory on April 9, 2024.

She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Ely, MN.

She had been joined in marriage to Don Loomis on June 25, 1955. Celebrating 68 years together was a milestone that brought them both great joy. Throughout her years she had enjoyed being a secretary at Twin Disc and clerk at O&H Bakery. She was involved in volunteering with many organizations including Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts and various church groups. She took much pride in her home showcasing her love of antiques and skill for decorating and she made a “mean apple pie”! Her love of family and her ability to provide a warm and welcoming environment to of all who graced her doorstep. She loved bird watching and enjoyed many hours tending to her hummingbirds and their feeders.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Someone who brought joy and warmth to all who knew her. She cherished time spent with family and friends and was treasured by all. Her love and compassion will shine on through in the hearts of all who were fortunate to have known her.

Enola is survived by her son Thad (Soraya), daughter Teri. Three granddaughters, Hannah, (fiancé Alex Povhe), Emma and Scout and one great-granddaughter, Enola, and sister Myma Olesen.

She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers and sister.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 13, 2024 at First Lutheran Church in Ely with visitation one hour prior.
