Ray Hario

Ray H. Hario, 80, a lifelong resident of Ely, MN died Saturday, March 9, 2024 in Care Free Living in Ely, MN.  He was born December 23, 1943 to Howard and Alma (Mackala) Hario in Soudan, MN.  Ray attended Ely High School, Vermillion Community College and lastly graduated from the University of Minnesota with a bachelor’s degree in engineering.  He was employed as an engineer with LTV/Erie Mining Company.  Ray was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Ely, MN.  

Ray is survived by his former wife, Susan Hario Ely, MN, paternal cousins, and maternal cousins.  He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother Roger Hario.

 Funeral services for Ray will be at 11:00 am, Friday, March 15, 2024 at First Lutheran Church in Ely, MN.  The Rev. Zachariah Bergdorf will officiate.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the memorial service at the church on Friday.  A private interment will be in the Ely Cemetery at a later date.  In lieu of monetary donations, funds may be directed to the First Lutheran Church in Ely, or the Salvation Army, donated in Ray’s name.
