June M Johnson

June Marie Johnson, 74, passed away on Monday, May 21 at Boundary Waters Care Center in Ely, after a long battle with cancer.
June was born in Fairmont, MN on June 13, 1943, the daughter of Lester and Caroline Fritz. She grew up in Fairmont, graduating from Fairmont High School in 1962. June and Paul met while working at a summer job and later married at Immanual Lutheran Church in Fairmont in 1963, spending 55 years together.
She enjoyed doing all kinds of craft projects, such as quilting, sewing, making wall hangings , crocheting, knitting, etc. She also enjoyed playing cards and computer games.
She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, sister Valora Neuenschwander and brother Eldo Fritz.
She is survived by husband Paul, son Kyle (Jolene) Johnson, daughter Tracey (Dan) Schlueter, granddaughter Amber Johnson, grandson Noah Schleuter; sisters: Carol (Bob) Etelemaki, Maeve Wohlers, Deanna (John) Brownlee; special cousin Diane (John) Evan and several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be held at Grace Lutheran Church in Ely on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. with visitation being held one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials can be sent to the American Cancer Society or Grace Lutheran Church in Ely.
