Alan Curtis Saralampi

Alan Curtis Saralampi, 72, of Ely, MN, died in Eveleth of cancer complications on July 15, 2025.

Alan was born in Virginia ,MN in 1952 to Alvin and Elvi (Salin) Saralampi, the second child of four.  Alan attended Vermilion Community College before joining the Air Force. He served in Sardina, Italy during the Vietnam Conflict.  Upon returning from the service, he worked in the mines until starting a career at 3M that lasted 20 years.

Alan was preceded in death by his parents.  He is survived by his wife Donna (Russ), siblings Evie (Davin), Russell and Roger, daughters Magen and Monica, grandchildren Michael, Oro, Milo, Megan and Emily.

A private family military honor service will occur at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Saginaw, MN, with a small gathering to follow.  Alan's family would like to express a deep appreciation to the VA and hospice services he received at the end of his life.  Donations of gift cards for groceries, gas, and cash should go to the Minnesota VA Health Care System (VA.gov).  It would be greatly appreciated.
