Carol Janeksela

Carol Janeksela of Ely, passed away at peacefully on November 19, 2025 at Ely-Bloomenson Community Hospital at the age of 83 with her son Dave, grandson Matt, and special friend Berta Johnson by her side.

Born December 20, 1941  in Ely, MN to Pete and Ann (Kuznik) Jiacik, Carol was a bartender at Dee’s, Portage and Timber Inn through her years.  She was kind-hearted and a good listener. You might get a free one if you deserved it. She really enjoyed her time with the hockey parents. Carol was fun-loving and loved her grandchildren to no end.

Carol is survived by her daughter Sue (Steve Berginni), son Dave (DJ), granddaughters Nicole and Jessica (Brian) and grandson Matthew.

She is in Heaven with her husband Dennis, and son Dennis Scott, parents Peter and Ann, sister Dorothy, brothers Richie, Paul and Pete.

No memorial service per Carol with burial with her husband in the spring.

Family arrangements have been entrusted to Kerntz Funeral Home in Ely.
