Carrie Hegfors Knuutti

Carrie Hegfors Knuutti, aged 69, passed away on May 30, 2026 at Essentia Health hospital from natural causes.

Carrie, a lifelong Ely resident, was married to her loving husband Allan for 49 years. She loved her pet cats which she had several over the years. She also loved to swim and would go swimming at their Burntside Lake cabin every chance that she got. In retirement, Carrie and her husband liked to travel, both with a motorhome that they purchased and by cruise ship. They both made eight trips with friends and family to the Hawaiian Islands over the years, which left cherished memories.

She was preceded in death by her parents Severin and Elaine Hegfors and her older brother Dale.

She is survived by her husband Allan, sister Claire Dryke (Chester), brother Lee Hegfors (Barbara), niece Danielle Dryke, Nephew Jeremy Hegfors (Sarah) and their son Kaladin, niece Kimberly Lerum (Ty) and many cousins and friends. She will be missed by all. Per her request, there will be no service but a celebration of life at a later date. Her wish was to be cremated and will be interred in the Ely Cemetery with a private family service.
