Ervin W. Olson

Ervin Walter Olson, age 92, of Babbitt, passed away at Ely-Bloomenson Community Hospital on October 25, 2024.

He was born in Fertile, MN on July 30, 1932 to Alvin and Edna (Jorgenson) Olson. He married Esther Wang on March 28, 1953 and was married for 71 years. They moved to Babbitt a few years after getting married. He was an equipment operator for Reserve Mining Company.

He loved his cars and their home was the “go to place” for coffee and treats.

Ervin and Esther raised their three children, Edward, Donald and Lisa in their loving home. Erv was not one to sit on the sofa, he worked into his 80s and loved to stay busy.

He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Esther; two sons, Edward (Carla) Olson, Donald (Chris) Olson and one daughter Lisa (Rodney) Lampton; a brother Verdell (Faye) Olson and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren along with his grandpups, Maggie, Paul and Taz.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Gale Olson and his best grandpup Milo.

Services will be held Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at the Babbitt Evangelical Lutheran Church at 11:00 a.m. with a visitation one hour earlier. Burial will be following the service at Argo Cemetery in Babbitt.
