Jane Vukelich

Jane F. Vukelich, 76, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2024, at Babbitt Carefree Living.

Jane was born October 6, 1947 to Edwin and Frances (Rautio) Paavola. She was a graduate of Ely Memorial High School. Soon after graduation, she married the love of her life, David Vukelich on February 19, 1966. Together they had two children, Tammy and Robert. She worked at JC Penney and at Boundary Waters Bank and was an active volunteer wherever she could. Jane and Dave moved to Babbitt and had a home there for over 25 years. After their retirement, they loved to travel. They became snowbirds and resided in Arizona. Jane was known for her loud whistle and was a huge Elvis Presley fan. Jane had a loving heart. She was very family-oriented. She cherished her grandchildren very much.

Jane is survived by her husband David, daughter Tammy Perushek of Iron, MN and a son Robert (Becky) Vukelich, of Kenyon, MN, a sister, Cathy (Brian) Coombe of Ely, brother-in-law Mike (Patty) Vukelich of North Carolina, sister-in-laws Gloria Paavola of California, Liz (Danny) Thoren and Susie (John Puzel) Brinatte of Ely. Grandchildren Bryce, Bryan and Brandon Perushek, Zach and Kyle Vukelich, along with many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Robert Paavola, sister Judy McAndrews, brother-in-law Dale Loushin and sister-in-law Diane Loushin.

A funeral mass will be held at St. Pius X in Babbitt on Saturday, August 24, 2024 at 11 a.m. with a visitation held one hour before. Burial will be held and a later date.
