Jeanette Prijatel

Jeanette A. Prijatel, age 82, passed away August 4, 2025, at the Ely-Bloomenson Community Hospital, surrounded by her family. Jeanette was born in Soudan, MN on February 21, 1943, to Mike and Stephanie (Dolinshek) Weinzierl. She moved to Ely in the third grade with her family. Jeanette graduated from Ely Memorial High School in 1961. She attended Ely Junior College, then UMD, obtaining her teaching degree in home economics. She was joined in marriage to Robert "Bobbie" Prijatel on August 27, 1966, in Ely. They made their home in Ely, raising three children. Jeanette worked as a substitute teacher for the local schools until 1989. In 1989, she began working at Zup's grocery store, where she worked until October 2024, when she retired at the age of 81 due to health issues.

Jeanette is survived by her children: Dan Prijatel of Britt, Jon and Holly Prijatel of Ely and Carrie and Danny Lange of Eveleth. Grandchildren: Jake and Cooper Prijatel, Eddie and Sammy Prijatel and Dylan Lange. Brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Debbie Weinzierl and sister-in-law, Dianne Weinzierl.

Jeanette was preceded in death by her husband Bobbie in 1999 and infant daughter Valerie in 1967. Parents Mike and Stephanie Weinzierl, father and mother-in-law, Joseph and Mary Prijatel, brother Mike Weinzierl, brother-in-law and sister Tim and Alberta Forbes, brothers and sisters-in-law: Joe and Evelyn Prijatel, Stanley and Ann Prijatel, Mary and Earl Bird, Peter and Dolores Prijatel and Rose and Peter Jiacik.

Funeral services will be held at Kerntz Funeral Home on Friday, August 15, 2025 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. with a service held at 6 p.m.

Family arrangements have been entrusted to Kerntz Funeral Home of Ely.
