Linda (Hoit) Solum: 7/11/1947 - 9/10/2025

Linda was born in St. Paul, MN and preceded in death by her husband Paul, parents Everett and Alva Hoit, step parents Jack and Evelyn (Hoit) Emerson, and brother Robert Hoit (Gloria). She is survived by Brian Solum (Deborah) of Bemidji, MN; Kirk Solum of Ely, MN; grandchildren Will Solum, Jon Solum (Hanah), Hoyt Solum (Hallie), and Jack Solum of Bemidji, MN, Silas Solum, and Oren Solum of Ely, MN; and great-grandson, Callan Jon Solum of Bemidji, MN. Niece Cathy (Jim) Florian, Jen & Robert of Forest Lake, MN, nephews Craig (Nancy) Hoit of Ocala, FL, Michael Hoit (Julie) Lily and Max of Seattle, WA, Tricia Bui (Huan) and Sophia, David Hoit (Anne), South St. Paul, MN, Jeff Hoit (Ashley) Easton, Bryce, and Vivian of Hugo, MN, and many, many friends whom she kept since childhood and new friends through her church and community.

Linda will be remembered for her Christian-faith-filled generosity and service to others through 40 years of nursing, care for Paul, and care for others when in need. She was a talented artist with quilting and watercolor who loved to travel, specifically her trips to the North Shore with the ‘girls,’ her dogs Cora and Pippa, and time spent with her family.

Linda will be interred at Elmhurst Cemetery, Roseville, MN next to her husband at a later time. She will be missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, September 21, at 2:00 pm at the Ledgerock Community Church in Ely. 

Family services have been entrusted to Kerntz Funeral Home.
