Mary Margaret (Junke) Mavetz

Mary M. Mavetz, 92, of Ely, passed away on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at Carefree Assisted Living in Ely. 
Our precious mother and grandmother Mary Margaret Mavetz would like you to know that her work here is done.
Born in Alcore, Minnesota on August 14, 1925, Mary at 92 kept her spunky outlook on life until the end.
She was the oldest of four children. She was preceded in death by her mother Mary (Petritz) Junke and father Marco Junke; brothers Ed (Dorothy) Junke and Bob (Betty) Junke; and is survived by her sister Jean (Gary) Johnson.
Mary was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years Albin “Binky” Mavetz. 
She is survived by her beloved children: Beckie (Whitney Meddaugh) Lobe, Mary Jo (Ric) Toman, Darlene (Brian) LaFrenier and Al Mavetz; 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. 
Our family would like to thank our angels (the aides and nurses) at Memory Care in Carefree Living. They cared for her in the most loving way. 
A memorial mass will be held on Thursday, July 5, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at St. Anthony's Catholic Church with visitation being held one hour prior to the service at the church.
Family arrangements have been entrusted to Kerntz Funeral Home of Ely.
