Mary Ann Shober

Mary Ann Shober, age 81, of Ely, passed away away peacefully on Tuesday, November 5, 2024 at her home.

She was born July 5, 1943 to Joe and Emma (Edwards) Kerntz. She married Ray Shober on September 14, 1968.

She is survived by their children, Raymond A. Shober II of Hayward, WI, Anna M. Shober and Laura J. (Edward) Marsolek, both of Ely, MN; her grandchildren Colton and Alexis Shober, David and Joey Shober, Kaitlyn (Jeromie Fearn) Shober, Edward C. (Bree) Marsolek III; great-grandsons Grayson and Jaxson Fearn, Rorik Marsolek; cousins, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.

Mary Ann worked many years in food service in the Ely area. She served on the Town of Fall Lake board as Treasurer and was very involved in the Girl Scouts and the Boy Scouts.

She was a woman of strong faith, an active member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Ely, MN. She was a caring and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She touched the lives of many people. Her sass and witty personality will never be forgotten. God Bless our Mary Ann.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Ely at 11 a.m. with visitation one hour prior.
