Patrick Joseph Boffa

Patrick Boffa, age 74, of Babbitt, passed away on Sept. 18, 2024 at the Waterview Winds Assisted Living in Eveleth.

Patrick Joseph Boffa was born to Rose Marie and Joseph Boffa on December 28, 1949 in Winona, MN. 

He attended Babbitt High School, Vermilion Community College and graduated from UM-Duluth.

In February 2017 he married the love of his life, Stephanie Grahek

He loved the woods, and spent three months each year living out in the woods, eating fish he caught, and animals he hunted. Those months were the best of each year to him.

He was an avid coin collector and spent hours researching coins, and the history behind them.

He was GENEROUS to a fault...if he had it, and you needed it, it was yours!

He loved nature and all creatures, especially dogs. He also loved America, and proudly served in the Navy, doing a tour in Vietnam. The time spent there changed him forever.

He was a kind and gentle soul, who did not care what anyone thought, as long as he knew he was not harming anyone or anything.He loved his life and had more adventures than most, hitch hiking to and through nearly every state in the country. He was an old hippie through and through.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and two nephews, Joey and Ryan Lossing. 

He is survived by his sister Roxanne (Brad) Sader, Jill (Dave) Lossing and brother Joseph (Patty) Boffa; nieces and nephews Amy Sader, Chris Lossing, Kate (Matt) Hall, Derek (Carlyn) Lossing, Jay (Natasha) Boffa, Emily (Eddy)Acquah, Cory Lossing, Shannon Boffa; and many great nieces and nephews that he was very fond of. 

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 24 at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Babbitt at 2 p.m. with visitation one hour prior. 

Memorials preferred to Evangelical Lutheran Church in Babbitt, Ely Food Shelf, Contented Critters of Ely and veterans organizations of your choice. 

Family arrangements have been entrusted to Kerntz Funeral Home of Ely.
