Susan “Sue” Kay Panzer

Susan Kay Panzer (Sorenson), age 82, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 16, 2025 at Hilltop Health Care Center in Watkins, MN.

Susan was born in Pipestone, MN on September 7, 1942 to Lester and Nora (Kvaale) Sorenson. She was a graduate of Robbinsdale High School in 1960.

She lived her whole life in MN, the last 20 years between Ely, Rockville, and most recently Watkins, MN.

She had a deep love for animals and had many pets throughout her life. Her most special was her little dog Teddy who was a great companion in her later years of life. She also enjoyed baking earlier in life and most recently loved her Hallmark movies and reading her daily devotionals.

She is survived by her daughter Carrie Lynn Kent, sons Mark Alan Blanchfield (Donna) and Michael Scott Blanchfield (Cindy), and daughter Amy Marie Yanta Schmidtbauer (Paul), 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents Lester and Nora and sister Sharon.

Burial service for immediate family will be held at the Ely Cemetery in Ely by the Kerntz Funeral Home on May 23, 2025.
