Diane C (Laitinen) Jiacik

Diane C. Jiacik of Babbitt passed away on May 1st, 2016  at the Grand Village in Grand Rapids. Diane was born in Ely to Louis and Verna (Lassila) Laitinen on June 20th, 1947. After she graduated from Ely High School in 1965, she worked various jobs, only to finally get her degree in cosmetology for which she had always had a passion for doing and was a hair stylist for many years.
She is survived by her two children: Annette (Ed) Stevens, and Robert “Cory” Taylor, her sister: Darlene (Bill) Liapis, step-children: Cathy(Doug) Furnstahl, Mike Jiacik and Patsy(Gregg) Osaben, 10 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild.
She is preceded in death by her husband Paul, parents Frank and Verna Loushin, and Brothers Gary Laitenen, and Dale (Diane) Loushin.
Funeral services  will be held at Kerntz Funeral Home in Ely, on Saturday, May 14th, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. with visitation being held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Family arrangements have been entrusted to Kerntz Funeral Home of Ely.
